Navigating the Stronghold
The Stronghold is a procedurally generated maze. While it looks random, it follows strict generation rules. Understanding these rules turns a 10-minute search into a 30-second sprint.
1. Finding the Stronghold
You have your eyes. Now you need the coordinates.
- Triangulation: Throw an eye, record the angle (F3 'Facing'). Move 20-30 blocks sideways, throw again. The intersection of the lines is the stronghold.
- Calculators: Most runners use tools like Ninbot or a web calculator to get the exact chunk coordinates (4, ~, 4).
3. Pie Ray (Pre-emptive Navigation)
Before you even dig into the stronghold, use the Pie Chart (Shift+F3).
Look for block_entities (The Spawner) or entities (Silverfish). By rotating
your camera and watching for the spike in the chart, you can determine the exact direction of the Portal
Room from the surface.
4. The Portal Room
You found it. Now execute.
- The Spawner: Break it immediately to stop Silverfish from knocking you into the lava.
- The Eyes: Fill the empty frame slots. You need up to 12 eyes total (though usually 1-2 are already filled).
- Enter: Jump in. The timer doesn't stop yet.
